Modifying ONT firmware may violate your Internet Service Provider's Terms of Service, especially if the hardware is leased. Additionally, changing firmware parameters can disrupt your fiber optic connection alignment with the ISP's Optical Line Terminal (OLT). Always back up your current configuration file ( hw_ctree.xml ) via the web management interface before flashing alternative software.
Using corrupted firmware files will result in a non-functional device.
Once the process is complete, click "Stop" in the tool. Close the software and perform a hard reset on the ONT using the physical reset pinhole. This ensures the new firmware configurations are properly applied. Troubleshooting Common Issues

: Installs newer Huawei firmware to add features.
Power the Huawei ONT using its physical power button or by unplugging the power cable.
Remove ISP-specific logos and limitations to use the device with any provider.
If an update fails, the ONT may get stuck in a boot loop (flashing lights). A flash tool can restore the stock firmware [1].
